Āmménah

Āmménah is part of Rituals of Return, an ongoing artistic research project by Jasmin Rastegar that explores how creative practices function as ways of surviving displacement, processing memory, and staying oriented in a new place.

Āmménah is a short documentary film by Jasmin Rastegar, following Amena, a singer and artist from Yemen who has lived in Vimmerby, Sweden since 2019. The film observes her everyday life, her music, and the quiet tension between a creative practice she found her way back to in Sweden, and a residency system that asks her to set it aside.
