90 Antiope
A binary asteroid consists of two asteroids orbiting each other so closely that they appear to be a single asteroid. They are locked in an eternal pas de deux, where they can never fully meet, yet cannot leave one another either.
Faced with the infinity of the universe, it is easy to feel small, and even all the people orbiting around us can feel distant.
Sometimes we orbit people for years or decades, but do we really know them deeply?
Far out in the asteroid belt lies the binary asteroid 90 Antiope.
In this performance, you will experience a dramatic, passionate, rhythmic adventure in which two people, bound by the fate of asteroids, find themselves on Earth.
What challenges will they face? Will they succeed in freeing themselves from the gravity that binds them together forever?
Concept, choreography and dance: Linė Dakinevičiūtė and Emma Sokolnicka. They are in their second year of the Bachelor’s programme in Dance Pedagogy. The project is part of the course Dance and Choreography III, in which they have been tasked with creating and staging their own dance performance.
