Artistic and Teaching expertise

Here are the criteria for artistic and pedagogical skills required to apply for a job as Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor or Assistant Lecturer.

Professor

Artistic expertise at professor level means that you are a leader in your artistic area. The quality of activities shall be at the highest international level and you must have both deep and wide-ranging knowledge of your artistic area. Artistic expertise also means an outstanding ability to build up, lead and develop the relevant artistic area and also to communicate knowledge about this area. Other contributions to knowledge development are also desirable, such as duties as an external reviewer or external expert.

Pedagogic expertise at professor level means that you have displayed pedagogic expertise in an artistic context within or outside higher education, as well as the ability to develop, lead and implement education of high quality at different levels. Pedagogic expertise also means experience of the research basis for education at first and second cycle level, or corresponding expertise demonstrated in an artistic context outside higher education. The term pedagogic expertise also includes pedagogic commitment and well developed, fundamental pedagogic views that have been set down in writing.

Assistant Professor

Artistic expertise at Assistant Professor level implies that you have both a breadth and depth of knowledge within your artistic discipline. Artistic expertise also means a good ability to develop and implement research and/or development activities at a high level of quality, supervisory experience at first and second-cycle level, and a good ability to communicate your knowledge of the field.

Teaching expertise at Assistant Professor level implies that you have demonstrated teaching expertise in artistic contexts within higher education or elsewhere, as well as the ability to develop and implement high-quality teaching at various levels. Teaching expertise also means experience of pedagogical development work and participation in research associated with first and second-cycle education, or equivalent expertise demonstrated in artistic contexts outside of higher education. The term teaching expertise also covers pedagogical engagement and a well-developed, basic pedagogical approach documented in writing.

Assistant Lecturer

Eligible for employment as an Assistant Lecturer is someone who has demonstrated pedagogical skill and has either obtained a degree from higher education or possesses equivalent qualifications or other skills relevant to the content of the position and the duties to be included. Additional eligibility requirements may be decided on a case-by-case basis in individual employment matters.
