Research collaboration

SKH conducts research, provides education, and collaborates with various stakeholders in society. Our partnerships and involvement span artistic research, interdisciplinary initiatives, and international networks, creating opportunities for exchange between academia, artists, and researchers. NAVET

SKH is part of KTH's research centre NAVET together with Konstfack and the Royal College of Music (KMH). The collaboration also includes the Swedish Museum of Performing Arts and the Technical Museum. NAVET is a centre with the overall goal of being a meeting place for research and projects at the intersection of art, technology and design, with the aim of facilitating and creating opportunities for exchange and research collaboration between artists, designers, engineers, humanists, natural and social scientists.

ELIA

SKH is a member in ELIA, a globally connected European network that provides a dynamic platform for professional exchange and development in higher arts education.

ULF – Education, Learning, Research

ULF – Education, Learning, Research – is a national initiative focused on practice-based research in collaboration between schools and academia. For the area of Dance Pedagogy at SKH, this means practice-based research with a focus on dance education activities. The main purpose of ULF is to strengthen the scientific foundation of schools through collaboration between academia and schools in research, school activities, and teacher education.

Society for Artistic Research and Research Catalogue

SKH is a portal partner in Research Catalogue (RC), an international database for artistic research. RC is owned and operated by the Society for Artistic Research (SAR).

SAAR Summer Academy for Artistic Research 2025

SAAR is a joint Nordic project supporting doctoral artistic research practice facilitated by partner countries Finland, Sweden and Norway. It provides a stimulating intellectual environment and a supportive setting where doctoral artist-researchers from all fields collaborate, present their ongoing artistic research, and receive feedback from peers and tutors from the partner network.

SAAR 2025 will take place on 17–22 August 2025 in Sápmi in Kiruna (Northern Sámi: Giron; Finnish: Kiiruna; Meänkieli: Kieruna). The host is Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) and it is organised in collaboration with Kin Museum of Contemporary art.
