VIS Issue 7 with theme Metamorphoses – Tales of the Ever-Changing was released 14 March. The broad and metaphorical theme of #7, metamorphosis, has proved to both transcend and be concretized by the dramatic course of events in the world.

Are you interested in deepening or broadening your artistic practice? Now is your chance. We offer a variety of independent courses for those working in circus, dance, dance education, film and media, opera, performing arts and acting. Autumn courses are open for application until 19 April.

This year’s doctoral studentships call is attracting a lot of interest and SKH have received applicants from almost 40 countries around the world, spread over five continents.

The architectural practice 3XN with the proposal To See and Be Seen has been given the design commission for the new building in Slakthusområdet where Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) plans to move the entire university. That’s the decision taken by the jury in an architecture competition held by the university together with the City of Stockholm, Architects Sweden and the property developer Atrium Ljungberg.

This year's first lecture in the SKH Dance Open Lectures series attracted a record number of interested people from all over the world and there is no doubt that Thomas Talawa Prestø's lecture Decolonizing the body engaged those present.

How can film prop designers use video games as a design tool? How do you portray sexuality in opera without crossing boundaries of personal integrity? How can mime actors use artificial intelligence? These questions – and many more – are addressed at Stockholm University of the Arts Research Week 2022 from 18 to 21 January. SKH welcomes applications for doctoral studentships, starting January 2023. Last date for application is 14 February 2022.

With the Department of Dance Pedagogy at Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) reforming their Bachelor’s programme from the ground up, they’ve decided to take on an issue almost all dance education in the West is forced to deal with: The complete focus on European and North American perspectives and knowledge systems.
