With this little film, SKH wishes everyone happy holidays and a very happy new year!

Vanja Hamidi Isacson successfully defended her artistic research project "The potential of multilingualism in dramatic works" on 9 December 2022, within the PhD programme Performative and Media-Based Practices.

It was really nice to be back at the Saco Student Fair after two years of pandemic restrictions and to physically meet secondary school students to talk about our programmes. A total of 21,554 visitors came to Kistamässan where the event took place over two days, 1-2 December.

On 18 November, issue eight of VIS – Nordic Journal for Artistic Research was released, with the theme “of Rules and Alternatives”. The editors of the issue are Serge von Arx and Eliot Moleba.

When the autumn term starts in 2023, the opera students will meet the then-newly appointed teachers Emma Lyrén Fernandez and Fredrik Zetterström. "We are very pleased to have these two vocal performance teachers join our opera teaching staff," says Head of Department Lise-Lotte Axelsson about the recruitments.

Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) invites applications to its international Masters of Fine Arts degree programmes - Dance Education (MADE), New Performative Practices (NPP) and Performing Arts. Applications are currently open. The deadline is 16 January 2023.

One artistic research project at Stockholm University of the Arts will receive a total of 3.9 million Swedish kronor in funding when the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet, VR) distribute this year’s grants.

An ambitious new collaboration between film schools in Denmark, Sweden and Norway, called Nord - New Nordic Voices, will promote the development of strong Nordic storytellers. The first phase of the collaboration is a three-year development project that the A.P. Møller Foundation has supported with €1.5 million.

The Artistic Research Autumn Forum (24-26 October) ended its second day with a major VIS event in the Machine Hall of the art facility Tou in Stavanger. The evening featured performances by Paola Torres Núñez del Prado (author in VIS #7), Timo Menke (author in VIS #6) and Vilda Kvist.

More than 250 artistic researchers from all over the world gathered when the conference Alliances and Commonalities was held again at SKH 20-22 October 2022.
