Wednesday seminar: Documentation of Karin Rudfeldt’s completed research project

Why my research in the art of acting with voice and speech resulted in a fairy tale. How it helped me to write about the bodily and intuitive knowledge in that form.

This seminar is part of the Wednesday seminar series this spring “Processes of Documentation”, where we explore a wide range of processes of documentation emerging within the field of artistic research. Here you can learn more about the series and discover upcoming seminars!

The story of an actor who recovered the own voice
(Sagan om skådespelaren som återfann sin röst).

In everyday conversation, the words are connected to the will, feeling and intention behind them. But in acting, in reading out loud, the intuitive knowledge of language disappears and the obvious connection between body and mind is broken.
Instead of exercises that cover up what is lost, it seems to me more interesting and effective to try to understand what is happening. And how the bodily intuitive knowledge could be taken advantage of.

My research question has been:

  • Is it possible to elevate the bodily intuitive to a conscious thought?
  • Is it possible and effective to practice what we already know?

My research has resulted in a fairy tale.
