Seductions
Linda di Chamounix by Gaetano Donizetti
Lakmé by Delibes (1883)
Faust by Gounod (1859)
Hansel and Gretel by Humperdinck (1893)
All of these operas feature a form of seduction. In Linda di Chamonix, Lakmé and Faust, it takes the form of forbidden love due to class and religious differences. In Hansel and Gretel, the witch lures the children with sweets but plans to make gingerbread cookies out of them.
