Four choreographic works

Four choreographic works

Julia Müllner, Luusi Kateme, Petra Söör och Ģirts Dubults from the master's program in choreography present their own works in Meta Isaeus-Berlin's exhibition "The Party That Never Happened."

The event at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern has a durational format with programmed performances. Rather than dancing with, or beside, the existing art works, the studentartists from the MA programme in choreography will share their own choreographic works that stands alongside, hooks into, converse with and enhances the perception of the art works and conceptual idea of Meta Isaeus-Berlin, as well as the architecture of the exhibition space.

The choreographic works are moving between topics such as other than human, eco criticality, spiritual belief and mediation, some are clearly placed and formatted, others are more drifting and negotiable.

Descriptions of performances and artists' presentations

Title: slowly, moving, parasite

By and with: Julia Müllner with Ottavia Catenacci
Length: 10 minutes

Two bodies cling, briefly unsettling form and weight. Two bodies find patterns of hospitality and repulsion. Two bodies, Ottavia Catenacci and Julia Müllner, explore the movement practice of parasiting. Their bodies tangle symbiotically and parasitically with the surrounding architecture. Each performance iteration takes place in a different space within the exhibition.

Title: Meanwhile, weathered bodies drifting

By and with: Petra Söör
Length: 15 min

The missing forest of the clear cut made an empty howling song in the wind. I was often too far away or too busy to notice. But the veins and growth lines, the aliveness of the forest, as tree, as a family, as kin, now imprinted in the floor and the concrete of this building, made me pause. The walls humming, not loudly but with an intimacy felt in all my soft tissues. Inside outside, outside inside, undisrupted elemental touching.
