Closing act

If I would let you give a name to what I do, what name would you give it?

Maybe there are words that make me move like the wind.
Or a name that transforms my clubs into birds, or rays of sunlight.

What makes a name fit perfectly, and what makes it slide off the thing it tries to describe like an ugly, oversized coat?

Do we even really want to describe everything?

Sometimes I call myself a juggler, but sometimes other names fit better: performer, artist, acrobat, bookworm, poet, tea-drinker, Rotterdammer, wind-lover, dramaturg, dancer, sore loser, chaos-brain, and many more. I ended up here after many years of youth circus. I first followed my love for reading and dramaturgy to a studies of theatre and literature at Utrecht University, but afterwards decided to run away with the circus after all.

In my work I try to discover ways of making the togetherness of live art count. Working with themes like connection, play, humility, hope and wonder and finding the unique ways that juggling and movement can relate to these themes.
