The curse of love
Opera often offers stories of great emotion, which is exactly the theme in this year's graduation performance, The Curse of Love.
The fool Rigoletto worries about a curse that ends in his daughter Gildas sacrificing her life for a ruthless duke. Rodolfo pretends to be jealous so that his beloved Mimi does not die of tuberculosis. Romeo and Juliet would rather take their own lives for love than for family honor. Zerbinetta explains that passionate love and tragedy affect rich and poor alike when the heart does not understand itself. It is the curse of love.
All works are performed in the original language. Conductor Andreas Hanson leads the singers and the Wermland Opera Orchestra.
