Publication - Activation - Presentation

An embodied presentation by Israel Aloni
""

A 90-minute process of encountering concepts, experiencing the activation of the concepts through an embodied presentation of a work in progress, followed by a conversation.

The attendees will be handed out a new book I am publishing with the editor Diego Agulló titled MILON QUIS - words for dance. The book is a dictionary. It is an assemblage of terms and concepts (nouns, invitations, activations and reminders) from the movement research practice - The I.Aloni Experience which I have been developing over the past two decades.

After about 30 minutes of the attendees reading through the book in their own pace, following the concepts which pull their curiosity, I will present a work-in-progress sharing of ideas for a piece in which I explore intimacy and intimidation. This is a solo which I will be dancing myself for the purpose of this degree presentation. The work-in-progress sharing will offer the attendees the opportunity to witness the embodiment of the concepts they encountered in their reading through MILON QUIS - words for dance, and experience how these concepts can inform and guide the embodied process of dancing-performing.

Following the work-in-progress sharing, there will be an open conversation about the dynamics between the concepts, the practice, the new work and the experience of the attendees as witnesses.

I am publishing MILON QUIS - words for dance with artist, editor and publisher Diego Agulló (CIRCADIAN).
