Wednesday seminar: Composing the Performance: hunches-explorations-analyses-hunches
This seminar is part of the Wednesday seminar series this autumn “Methods and Practices”, where we explore a wide range of emerging methods and practices in artistic research. Here you can learn more about the series and discover upcoming seminars!
The Wednesday research seminar on 3 December is part of doctoral course ‘Methods and Practices in Artistic Research’ during fall 2025 and is open to anyone interested. Kent Olofsson, who has been the course leader, will lead the seminar and will draw on his thesis ‘Composing the Performance’. With this as a starting point, he will lead a reflective and critical discussion on methods, both artistic and research-related. Particular focus will be placed on what initiated the explorations, which methods were used, how the various parts formed a longer arc in the research process, how the analyses were carried out, and what results they yielded. He will give a number of examples of the performances and investigations he carried out in his doctoral work.
The seminar will also feature Anne Gry Haugland, acting vice-rector for research at SKH in 2025, who will join Olofsson in discussing, contextualising and reflecting on methods in artistic research.
