Exchange studies in Opera Vocal Performance

Courses offered

SKH offers you to follow the curriculum of the Bachelor's Programme in Opera Vocal Performance (year 2 or 3). Find more information on the structure and content of the programme here.

Main language of instruction: Swedish and English

Study period autumn semester: 31 August 2026 - 17 January 2027

Study period spring semester: 18 January - 6 June 2027

Study pace: Full time

Responsible unit: Opera

You can apply for any of the following study options:

  • Autumn 2026 - 18 ECTS (2nd year, semester 3) Note! The study period is 31 August - 8 November 2026.

  • Autumn 2026 - 30 ECTS (3rd year, semester 5)

  • Spring 2027 - 30 ECTS (2nd year, semester 4)

  • Spring 2027 - 30 ECTS (3rd year, semester 6)

  • Autumn 2026 - 18 ECTS and Spring 2027 - 30 ECTS (2nd year, semester 3 and 4 with a break)

  • Full academic year 2026/2027 - 60 ECTS (3rd year, semester 5 and 6)

Autumn 2026 includes:

  • Singing lessons, music dramatic performance and concert, 18 ECTS from the course Music dramatic performance 3 - language, expression, communication (2nd year, semester 3)

  • Opera Performance Bachelor 5 - site, event, encounter, 30 ECTS (3rd year, semester 3)

Spring 2027 includes:

  • Music dramatic performance 4 - History, contemporaneity, audience, 30 ECTS (2nd year, semester 4)

  • Opera Performance Bachelor - Professional life and society, 10 ECTS (3rd year, semester 6)

  • Degree Project, 20 ECTS (3rd year, semester 6)

Application

The application period is 15 March to 15 April 2026.

After being nominated by your home university, you submit your application to SKH via the application system Varbi. Please note that we only accept applications via Varbi and that we will not consider any applications from students sent by e-mail or regular post. 

Submit your application here

Upload the following documents (in English or Swedish) and work sample for your application:

  • Registration certificate from your home institution
  • Transcript of records of your programme courses at your home institution completed so far
  • Language certificate showing your level in English and if possible Swedish
  • Letter of motivation (max. 1 A4 page): Describe why you are applying for exchange studies in opera at SKH and what your expectations are
  • Work sample: Upload or link to a video clip with good sound where you perform two (2) arias from your repertoire list
