Timeline
15 January 2026: Your last date of application and work samples
2 February* 2026: Deadline for application fee and to submit supporting documents
January - February 2026: Admission group assesses the submitted material for qualification test and Selection 1
16 February 2026: Information about who proceed to Selection 2 or not are sent out together with a task for Selection 2
25 February-3 March 2026): Selection 2, Online workshop and interview This test requires applicant participation online.
26 March 2026: Admission decisions are sent out
8 April 2026: Last day to reply to possible programme offer
Mid-May 2026: Decision on the award of the SKH tution fee scholarship
* 5 July 2026 is deadline for you who need to submit proficiency test in English or Swedish.
Deadline for Diploma of Bachelor’s Degree and transcript of records for you who are currently studying the last term of your Bachelor’s Programme, is by the time for course start.
Assessment of entry requirements
Assessment of the general entry requirement of a Bachelor's degree as well as the specific entry requirements English 5, will be assessed by the Swedish Council for Higher Education and the SKH Education Administrative Department. Applications for recognition of prior learning will be assessed by a specially appointed teacher.
The specific entry requirement "Passed qualification test" will be assessed by an admission group.
Qualification test
How: No participation of applicant needed, made on submitted material.
The admission group will assess the CV, video work samples and the written text as specified under "How to apply" on the Master’s Programme in Choreograpy website page. The admission group will evaluate the following:
- Level of experience
- Level of choreographic work in relation to the candidate’s stated affiliations in the field based in the following criteria: Artistic articulation, Methodology, Craftmanship and Communicability
- Capacity to speculate on their artist practice in relation to the wider field
The grading scale for this assessment is Pass/Fail.
Selection 1
How: No participation of applicant needed, made on submitted material.
The admission group makes an initial selection based on all submitted materials using the same criteria as above, in addition to the letter of motivation for the following criteria:
• Motivation for applying to the program
• Expectations for the studies within the program
The admission group ranks the applicants and the highest ranked are selected to an practical online workshop and interview.
Selection 2
How: Online practical workshop and interview via zoom, live participation and preparation in advance is needed.
When: 25 February-3 March 2026.
The workshop is planned for three active days and one day for interviews, with days in between for preparation. Participation is only needed for 3–4 hours on each active day. The workshop consists of several guided process based activities that engage giving and receiving feedback and sharing practices in small groups. The interviews will happen on the last day and are 15 minutes long. A preparatory task and more information will be sent to applicants who procede to Selection 2 on February 16.
Through the workshop tasks the admission group will pay attention to:
• The applicant’s ability to engage in a working process
• The applicant’s ability to collaborate and communicate in a group situation (taking into account the limitations of virtual meetings)
• The applicant's own work in terms of artistic articulation and method of work.
As the selection test will happen online, you will need to assure a functioning internet connection, an apparatus with a working camera and a space you feel comfortable working in.
The interview will inform the assessment of the other elements.

As an applicant, you will receive information from us whether you will proceed to the interview or not. The Admission Group
The assessment of the qualification test and the selection is made by an admission group with expertise that reflects the current education. The admission group consists of members working at Stockholm University of the Arts. A student representative can also participate in the admissions group, but will not take part in the assessment.
