Scriptwriting for Film and Television - master
The Master's Programme in Film and Media, with specialisation in Scriptwriting for Film and Television is aimed at those who wish to specialise in and deepen their knowledge about directing documentaries. The programme qualifies the student for third-cycle studies and consists of two years of full-time studies at second cycle level.
A scriptwriter writes for film and television. This can be both original ideas and adaptions of literary works. Writing scripts is about portraying ideas by finding stories and giving them a dramaturgical structure. Creating characters and conflicts and writing dialogue. The work requires knowledge of cinematic storytelling. Sometimes it is performed on its own, but often in collaboration with the director and producer or with other scriptwriters. The scriptwriter has a great responsibility when creating a story, but must have the courage to let go a little and let the rest of the team take over and give the story its final form.
