In this course, those with a background in movement-based performing arts can explore the potential of play as an aesthetic form through practical exercises in clowning and physical comedy.

You will do this by exploring and problematising concepts such as playfulness, presence, responsiveness, interaction, humour and laughter. You will be able to engage in and reflect on the dynamics of an audience encounter, as well as explore different ways of using humour in your artistic discipline.

The course is a collaboration between Stockholm University of the Arts and Clowns Without Borders, with the aim of helping more performing artists find new ways to present their art and strengthening the role of physical comedy in the performing arts field.
