STUFF: Expanding Choreographic Practices

STUFF: Expanding Choreographic Practices

Are you active in performing arts, visual arts, performance, or other artistic practices? Do you work with artistic practices mediated through the body? Would you like to investigate working across disciplines through an engagement with choreographic and visual art practices in a group setting? Do you wish to further your knowledge in transferring choreographic and bodily approaches to media other than the body.

This course equips you with practical tools for collaboration between disciplines, and lets you reflect on and move beyond boundaries within your own practice. Applying a notion of expanded choreography, you will explore how to use and modify media-over-arching, translational choreographic methods to articulate relationships between bodies, materials, objects and spaces.

The focus is on practical learning in a group setting, as you experiment with a variety of artistic studio practices, and forms of sharing such as performance or installation.

Dancers, choreographers, visual artists, and invited SKH faculty, lead workshops, seminars, and lectures on interdisciplinary approaches to collaboration and modes of translation across media, and contexts.
