Introduction to Artistic Research for Actors and Performers

Introduction to Artistic Research for Actors and Performers

Even though actors are the most visible part of theater and cinema, their work is often seen as subservient to other artistic voices. That could not be more wrong. This course is devised to introduce actors and performers to the tools of artistic research. To articulate their knowledge, methods and research.

Using practical and theoretical orientation and work, the students will be introduced to tools and strategies of artistic research that will allow them to step into the role of researchers. The students will establish a practice of research connected to the embodied specificities of the actors work and their previous experiences in the field.
