Dance didactics in contemporary times

Dance didactics in contemporary times

This course is for you who want to develop your dance teaching practice from norm creative, decolonializing and contemporary perspectives and suites both for you who already are teaching dance and you who want to start teaching.

The course is in English and on-line. The on-line format gives you the possibility to study wherever you are geographically located. You just need to be able to practice dance, meaning having access to a space that makes dancing possible, both your own dance practice and dance teaching practice.

The course aims to increase the ability to teach dance within different contexts, with different aims and from different perspectives. It also aims towards increasing your knowledge and understanding of dance teaching in relation to international contexts and contemporary and future social aspects.

Dance and dance teaching are problematized and scrutinized during the course and the teaching practice is challenged and developed through an explorative approach. The course is built upon practical and theoretical teacher-led classes in combination with your own work and collaborations with classmates.

The education is structured as practical lessons, lectures, seminars, discussions, collaborations and presentations and is carried out both on Zoom and on a shared learning platform.
