Artography in Theory and Practice in Higher Education

This fully online course is structured through two online seminars and eight individual and/or collaborative assignments that the student fulfills during the course, as well as an online examination which builds on the course assignments. 

The learning activities consists of workshops, lectures, seminars, reading literature, peer-reviews, collaboration with other course participants, an interview, independent work connected to one’s own teaching practice with supervision, digital exhibition with sharings.

General Entry Requirements for studies at advanced level and

Specific Entry Requirements:
Degree of Bachelor of Arts of which 90 credits in artistic subjects or didactics/ pedagogy with an artistic focus and English 6.

If you don’t fulfil the formal entry requirements for the programme you may apply for recognition of prior learning, in other words that the knowledge and competence you have acquired through other activities are assessed as the equivalent of the formal merits that are required. Submit your application for recognition of prior learning with your application for the programme.

You may also apply for an exemption/a waiver, that allows you to proceed to the selection process even though you don’t meet the general admission requirements. Submit your application for an exemption/a waiver together with your application.

Instructions for work samples

You need to submit the following work samples via universityadmission.se in order to be part of the selection to this education. Only files uploaded in the current admission round can be considered for selection. Submit via universityadmissions.se under My pages/Documents/Documents/Provide educational documents.
The use of AI tools/AI techniques is generally not allowed when creating your work samples or texts, you must create/write everything on your own.

A letter of application with supporting documents in which you motivate why you want to take the course and describe your qualifications for the course by answering the following questions. Maximum 1 A4 (about 4000 characters including spaces). Use pdf. 

1) How does the theme of the course relate to your own artistic and/or arts educational activities and experiences? 
2) What are your expectations of the course, what do you hope to learn and develop?
3) List and describe three artistic and/or arts educational qualifications (from studies or professional life) that are relevant to this particular course and upload supporting documents of these qualifications. You can provide certificates from employers or others with whom you have worked, programmes, reviews or similar. It is important that the certificates state what you have done and to what extent.

If there are more eligible applicants than places on the course, a selection is made on submitted material. The selection is made through a joint assessment of the applicant's previous artistic and/or didactic and pedagogical merits and work samples. The assessment is based on the applicant's ability to solve given tasks, problems or questions.

If you are a citizen of Sweden, another EU or EEA country or or Switzerland you are not required to pay application or tuition fees. Some other groups are also exempt from the requirement to pay application and study fees.

If you are not a citizen of Sweden, another EU or EEA country or or Switzerland you are required to pay application and tuition fees. The level of the study fees depends on which course/programme they are for, and the level is set in order to cover the actual costs of the course/programme in question. SKH has some possibilities of offering scholarships that cover the study fees for programmes.

If you are required to pay an application fee, the Swedish Council for Higher Education needs to receive your payment by the last date for paying the application fee. The application fee is SEK 900. If you are required to pay the application fee and the Swedish Council for Higher Education has not received your payment by the last date for paying the tuition fee, they will not process your application.
