Artography in Theory and Practice in Higher Education

A/R/Tography is a hybrid research methodology that emphasizes the three positions Artist (A), Researcher (R) and Teacher (T), and how these can be combined. The concept hybrid methodology means that A/R/Tography is both a way of doing research through/with one's own teaching practice, and a way of teaching through an explorative approach.

A/R/Tography was developed at British Columbia University in Canada based on a desire not to create a distance between the identities as artist, researcher and teacher when working in higher artistic or arts pedagogical education. A/R/Tography implies a practical and research-oriented approach to one's own teaching practice and might be a way of structuring arts pedagogical educational processes.

Through the course, you will develop knowledge of A/R/Tography and practical experience as an a/r/ tographer. The course has intensive seminar days that take place digitally. Between the seminars, you will examine A/R/Tography individually and collaboratively as theory and methodology, and carry out your own a/r/topographic process.

The discoveries that are made through the course are reported and assessed through a digital exhibition for fellow students and course coordinators.

  • Application and tuition fees

If you are a Swedish citizen or a citizen of another EU or EEA country you are not required to pay application or tuition fees. Some other groups are also exempt from the requirement to pay application and study fees.

A few years ago Sweden introduced application and tuition fees for higher education. The level of the study fees depends on which course/programme they are for, and the level is set in order to cover the actual costs of the course/programme in question. SKH has some possibilities of offering scholarships that cover the whole study fee or that subsidise it.

If you are required to pay an application fee, the Swedish Council for Higher Education needs to receive your payment by the last date forpaying the tuition fee. The application fee is SEK 900. If you are required to pay the application fee and the Swedish Council for Higher Education has not received your payment by the last date for paying the tuition fee, they will not process your application.

The tuition fee is 49 500 SEK for non EU/EES students.
