Advanced Role Interpretation and Performance, Opera
Would you like to spend a term focusing on one opera role and deepen your interpretation with the support of singing lessons, musical coaching and performing supervision?
Do you want to be able to analyse and reflect around a role – investigate the relation between language and music in seminars with other initiated and interested persons?
Apply to the course Advanced role interpretation at SKH!
We offer tools and methods to be able to work independently with role interpretation and performance on the opera stage.
The course consists of musical coaching, singing lessons, practical exercises in stage performance, studying and rehearsal techniques and role analysis.
Teaching is conducted through individual voice- and musical coaching, joint coaching lessons and scenic group exercises.
In seminars you will have the opportunity to raise questions around role interpretation, supervision in language interpretation and interpretation studies.
Independent work with learning and interpretation is a condition for the ability to make use of the content of the course.
Lessons are held during the day and the course is given at half speed.
Investigative work
Together with us teachers and your fellow student, you will practically and theoretically investigate the role you have chosen. You will study the entire role and familiarise yourself with the entire work it is part of. You will ask creative questions about the material and seek answers by listening, reading and practising, both vocally and on stage, the answers and ideas you find.
You will need to work consciously and independently between lessons, to take vocal and scenic interpretation further, throughout the course.
