Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) is a dynamic meeting place for independent artists where you as a student are a key figure. SKH started in 2014 when DOCH School of Dance and Circus, the University College of Opera and Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts (SADA) merged.

Today there are approximately five hundred students and two hundred staff at the university.

University Board

is responsible for SKH fulfilling its mission consisting of education, research and collaboration with the surrounding community. They decide on the overall orientation and organisation of the university, the distribution of study places and financial resources. The premiss is in the Higher Education Act, the Higher Education Ordinance and the Government's special directive in the annual regulatory letter.


heads the activities of the University directly under the University Board.

The Leadership

The Leadership consists of the Vice-Chancellor, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, the Director of Administration, the Vice-Rector for Research, the Vice-Rector for Collaboration and the Heads of Departments.

The Joint Administration

consists of several departments that work as academic support to the core activities - education, research and collaboration. The Director of Administration heads the Administration.

The financial department handles the university's finances, including payments, accounting, invoicing, financial forecasts and budget work.

The facilities and service department works with technology, storage, janitorial, property issues, reception, ticket booking, security and procurement.

The communications department is responsible for communication and marketing - internally and externally.

The HR department works with payroll administration, recruitment, work environment and other types of personnel issues.

The IT department works with networks, e-mails and is responsible for the use and access to all IT equipment at Uniarts.

The research office works with support for research and artistic development work.

The educational administration department works with study administration, admissions, internationalisation and evaluation.

The Library

SKH has three library branches that are common to SKH's students and staff. In addition to books, magazines and databases, you will find play and movie script, movies, music and notes. Open events, talks and presentations are also held at the library. Addresses: Brinellvägen 58, Teknikringen 35 and Valhallavägen 193.

The Research Centre

The Research Centre is led by the Vice-Rector for Research, who is responsible for the coordination of research and research education at SKH. The Research Centre includes research education coordinator and professors in SKH's four profile areas.

The Board of Education and Research

is responsible for the design, implementation and quality of education at the first- and second cycle level, research and artistic development work and education at the third cycle level.

The Board also establishes all educational plans and syllabuses and decides on the establishment of research projects and artistic development projects conducted at SKH.

The members are elected by the faculty and the student union has two representatives on the board.

The Crisis Group

is leading the work in the event of any serious incident affecting the university should occur.

Student Influence

The Student Union has the right to be represented in all decision-making and preparatory bodies that deal with educational issues. Everyone with the right to make decisions regarding the students must prepare the student union the opportunity to submit comments before making a decision.
