What do you teach at Uniarts?
I am a senior lecturer in Children and Youth Dance and I am in charge of this area at DOCH. I teach dance didactics, supervise teaching training practice, and mentor the independent work. I develop the field internally and externally, especially through my research.
Is there anything in your practice you would like to highlight?
We work for and emphasize active people of the future – our children and youth. Every human being should have access to dance.
What is important for you as a teacher?
Exploration, curiosity and courage are cornerstones in my teaching. Avoid focusing on shortage and lack of vision and emphasize the positive.
Have you got any advice for those who would like to study or devote themselves to artistic research here at Uniarts?
What do you do when you are not teaching here at Uniarts?
My background in dance is artistic: classical ballet and improvisation. I have also studied abroad. During 20 years I worked as a guest teacher in the dance teacher education in Finland. I have a BA in Education/Pedagogics and I study at the master progamme in Education at Stockholm University.
