In VIS – Nordic Journal for Artistic Research issue 17, the focus is on touch in artistic research. The theme examines how the explosive power of touch connects micro- and macro-perspectives within artistic practice, and how alternative forms of touch may enable new artistic expressions. The theme highlights both the relationship between the artist, movement, and materiality, as well as contact with audiences and other actors.
The editor for this issue is Gunhild Mathea Husvik-Olaussen.
Multilingualism is encouraged and valued. We welcome artistic research in which language choices have been carefully considered, and the solution that best serves the artistic practice and its accessibility has been selected. If multiple languages are used, a complete translation into one of the following languages must be provided: Swedish, Norwegian, Danish or English, so that the editorial committee can engage with the entire content.
The deadline for exposition proposals is 14 May 2026.
Read more about the theme and how to submit an exposition proposal on the VIS website.
