Video report: Decolonization conference draws crowds – and catches zeitgeist

When new movements with new ideas course through the world, the dance community can’t continue beating the same path. This is the thesis of the organisers of a digital conference in April, which in many ways challenges what a conference is – and what accountability the participants have afterwards.

Decolonizing tertiary dance education: Time to act was hosted collaboratively by Stockholm University of the Arts and Makerere University, Kampala, on 7–8 april 2022. In this video report, we meet some of the organizers and keynote speakers, and hear about what the dance community must do differently.
