The Department of Circus at DOCH, School of Dance and Circus,
A part of Stockholm University of the Arts (Uniarts).

We work with and conduct research within various advanced circus techniques and develop the artistic traditions in order to achieve a high level of technical and artistic skill. The objective is for the students to gain knowledge about the many forms and expressions of circus and link this to the field of contemporary art, thereby contributing to an expansion of circus as an art form.

The Master’s Programme in Contemporary Circus Practices is aimed at practicing circus artists who want to deepen their circus technique, develop new forms of circus and contribute to the dialogue/discussion in the contemporary art field.

Cirkör LAB – Laboratory for Artistic Brilliance is a platform for national and international circus artists, companies and other artists acting in the circus sphere. The development of the circus arts are important and we need meetings, artistic research, rehearsal work, residencies, conventions and workshops to make it possible for the arts to continue to grow.
