Art Healing Making Doing Being
Dance artist, teacher, and healing practitioner Michelle Boulé presents a lecture and live performance that cycles through the components of her artistic research. Her work begins with the body – the information it holds and conveys and how this relates to a cultural landscape.
For the past 20 years, Boulé has studied eastern and western views on somatics, healing, and the physical expression of consciousness, and her work aims to transmit this profound and at times esoteric knowledge of the body into the space and time of performance.
Michelle Boulé is a “Bessie” Award winning dance artist, teacher, and Certified BodyTalk Practitioner based in New York. She has toured and received commissions for 3 evening-length dances, all of which examine human possibility, consciousness, and potential: WONDER (2013, ISSUE Project Room), White (2015, Danspace Project), and The Monomyth (2017, The Chocolate Factory).
As a performer, Boulé collaborated extensively with Miguel Gutierrez from 2001–2015, and she has also worked extensively with Bebe Miller, Deborah Hay, John Jasperse, and John Scott. She is on faculty at The New School and Movement Research in New York, and is the owner and founder of MBody Radiance.
