Author talk with Stacey Sacks
Welcome to a lunch talk with Stacey Sacks about her artistic research project This Untethered Buffoon or The Trickster in Everything.
Trans-disciplinary live stage artist Dr. Stacey Sacks was born and grew up in Zimbabwe. After studying Performance and Social Anthropology in South Africa, Sacks completed the MA program A Year of Physical Comedy at SKH in 2012, a collaboration with Clowns Without Borders, which included tours to refugee camps in Rwanda, Myanmar and Jordan. She is co-author of the book The Clown Manifesto.
Stacey recently completed a PhD at SKH entitled This Untethered Buffoon or the Trickster in Everything. The online and printed publication SQUiRM contains filmed and written traces of the Artistic Research PhD. In the PhD an important question that emerges is: how do I mobilize my positionality as a privileged body in the anti-colonial conversation?
Marieke Dobewall, PhD alumni at SKH, will talk to her about the project on Tuesday 29 November in the library at Valhallavägen 193. Conversation in English.
Stacey’s PhD is number 8 in SKH's publication series X Position.
Here you can read the whole dissertation in Research Catalogue.
Here in Libris you can see all parts of X Position.
