Marcus Lindeen’s 80% seminar: The staged conversation
Marcus Lindeen will hold his 80% seminar "The staged conversation" on 9 December. Marcus is a PhD candidate in film and media.
The director and writer Marcus Lindeen presents his artistic research project with a special focus on his latest theater play L’Aventure invisible (The invisible adventure) that premiered at Théâtre Gennevilliers in Paris in October 2020. The play is the last instalment of a trilogy of plays on the theme of identity and transformation that all have the intimate and reduced conversation as a form.
In the seminar Marcus reflects on his work with staging dialogue as method and form for treating documentary material for both theater and film.
How can sound editing be used a writing tool to create a script for the participants? What happens when the scenography eliminates the actual stage and places the performers together with the audience? And what is the difference between staging conversations for theater and film?
The seminar is a part of Marcus Lindeen’s ongoing research project that he conducts as a doctoral candidate at Stockholm University of the Arts. Included in the project is his documentary feature film The Raft from 2018 and the trilogy of theater plays including Regretters, Wild Minds and L’Aventure invisible that all will be presented together at Festival d’Automne in Paris in 2022. L’Aventure invisible will also be performed at Schaubühne in Berlin, Piccolo Teatro in Milan and Wiener Festwochen in Vienna during the spring 2022.
