Imagineering fragmedialities

An open lecture by Jenny Sunesson on possibilities and dilemmas of sonic re-construction.

This event is hosted within the framework of the independent course "Sound as Critical practice" at the Department of Film and Media at Uniarts.

How can ethnographical and conceptual methods combined with remix aesthetics be adapted into a practical tool for societies to re-imagine and explore alternative worlds through the co-creation of alternate sonic versions and layers?

This open lecture examines the artistic research project “The lost and found project” and the concept of the sonic method Fragmenturgy, developed by Sunesson during 2016–2019.

This event is hosted within the framework of the independent course Sound as Critical practice.

About Jenny

Jenny Sunesson (b. 1973) is a Swedish artist predominantly working with sound. Her practice ranges from field recording and live collages to conceptual sound art and video. Sunesson uses her own life as a stage for her re-contextualized work where real and invented characters and derogated stereotypes, collaborate in the alternate story of hierarchies and normative power structures in society.
Jenny is an assistant professor of Sonic Practice at SADA at Stockholm University of the Arts.
