Shakespeare - Course

The course is aimed at actors who wants to develop their knowledge about the dynamics necessary in staging Shakespeare’s work.

During the course we will, among other things, do readings from Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer-Night’s dream and Hamlet. The dramaturgy in Shakespeare’s works will be analyzed through discussions and interpretation of the works both regarding form and language. The importance of Shakespeare’s works will be analyzed from a historical perspective, in a contemporary context, with a gender perspective and as classical archetypes. The purpose is to develop knowledge and skills to work practically with classical material, both when it comes to vocality and as characters and thus increase the knowledge about Shakespeare’s texts and dramatic works.
