At SKH you will find an attractive study and work environment, in which we strive to achieve broad recruitment of students and employees. With the flourishing environment for artistic research, we have unique opportunities of deepening the study programmes and creating collaborative transdisciplinary projects.
The University has about 500 students and 250 employees.
Right to award degrees at third-cycle level
In June 2016 SKH became the first university of the arts in Sweden to be granted the right to award degrees at third-cycle level.
Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) is a leading arts university that through pioneering educational programmes and research, will strengthen the power and ability of art. SKH will interact with and respond to challenges of society today.
To realise this vision, we will promote a unified environment that encourages responsible risk-taking in art creation where we:
- educate influential artists, researchers, and educators who will be a driving force, actively contributing to the development of the arts in society.
- develop experimental, innovative and collaborative artistic research environments where forms of art, dialogue around the arts, as well as education are strengthened
- from an artistic foundation engage actively with society through innovative platforms
- collaboratively foster a culture with a strong sense of “inclusivity” that is characterised by responsibility, trust and commitment, where differences are embraced.
