Bachelor's Programme in Dance Performance

The Department of Dance offers you to follow the curriculum of the spring term of the first year of the Bachelor's Programme in Dance Performance. Find more information about the structure and content of the programme here.

Courses for the spring term 2021 include:

Dance, Practice and Theory 1b (15 ECTS)

Performance, Practice and Theory 1b (7,5 ECTS)

Choreography, Practice and Theory 1b (7,5 ECTS)

 

Master's Programme in Choreography

The Department of Dance offers you to follow the curriculum of the spring term of the first year of the Master's Programme in Choreography. Find more information about the structure and content of the programme here.

Courses for the spring term 2021 include:

Choreography and Agency (10 ECTS)

Choreographic Methods 2 (10 ECTS)

Choreography: Media and Mediation (10 ECTS)

 

Total of ECTS: 30

Application

The application period is 15 March to 15 April 2020. To apply, click on the green "Apply"-button on the top right corner of this page

The following documents will be required:

  • Letter of Motivation
  • CV
  • Your latest Transcript of Records.
  • Certificate assuring that you are registered at a Higher Education Institution
  • Letter of recommendation from a dance tutor or teacher at your institution
  • Nomination letter from your institution
  • FOR APPLICANTS TO THE MASTER'S PROGRAMME: A certificate of a Degree of Bachelor including the Transcript of Records
  • FOR APPLICANTS TO THE MASTER'S PROGRAMME: Documentation showing that you meet the English language requirement (English 5, or the equivalent) 
  • FOR APPLICANTS TO THE BACHELOR'S PROGRAMME: A video where you complete a total of 4 tasks described below (maximum 6 min, 150 MB).

Please note that we only accept applications and certificates through the online application portal and that we will not consider any applications from students sent by e-mail or regular post.

Instructions for the video

Upload a video where you complet tasks/exercises described here below.

Please follow the instructions for all 4 tasks/exercises carefully and practice as much as you need. You can shoot with any camera you want. It is important that the entire body is visible throughout the whole film. The exercises are preferable filmed in a dance studio, without lighting or other arrangements. Use music if you want to, otherwise you can film in silence. Upload your video together with your application. Maximum length 6 minutes and 150 MB.

Instructions for task 1

Please watch the instruction video HERE. The instruction video contains task/exercise nr 1, and is directed by Ulrika Berg. Ulrika first shows the exercise in full, followed by more detailed descriptions of the exercise.

Instructions for task 2, 3 and 4 (Score exercises)

Below you will find the instructions for tasks 2, 3 and 4. The texts are written by Zoë Poluch and describe the exercises you are going to show in your video. 

General Principle: The front is everywhere (360 degrees around you), meaning that you do not treat the camera as your front.

Task 2
Time Frame: 3 minutes.
Dance a dance*, any dance, and explain why you chose to dance that dance.

*Dance: this could be a style or a technique, a dance you are familiar with that comes from your personal archive, a dance that you have learned from somewhere else, for example, the internet or from a library, it could be a historical dance or a contemporary dance.

Duration:
Dance for 2 minutes
Explain/contextualize for 1 minute

Task 3
Time Frame: 1 minute.
Dance a technical dance.

Duration:
1 minute

Task 4
Time Frame: 1 minute.

Dance a untechnical dance.

Duration:
1 minute
