Towards a New Concept of Performance in Art
- What concept of ‘performance’ is currently used to engage with performance within contemporary art? Where does this concept derive from, theoretically and philosophically, and what is the problem with this concept in relation to performance seen within an art context? This is the central problem I set out from in my PhD thesis in philosophy. In this talk I will give a brief introduction to this problem and the main arguments made in the thesis.
