Applications for PhD studies 2016
In 2016 Uniarts called for applications for PhD studies, starting in January 2017. The application deadline has passed.
In 2016 we called for PhD positions in performative and mediated practices – with specialisations in choreography, film and media, opera and performing arts, provided that Uniarts is awarded degree-awarding powers.
The PhD candidate position consists of four years of full-time study. The studies at PhD level include a documented artistic research project and a course section. The project's content and focus is developed in consultation with two supervisors. The education includes both compulsory and elective courses.
To join a PhD programme means developing an artistic research project of high quality which is expected to contribute to the development of new knowledge and deepen and/or challenge existing practices within the artistic field. As a PhD candidate you will work in a transdisciplinary environment where focus is on the artistic processes.
As a PhD candidate you will be employed by Uniarts. We consider it important that you - as a PhD candidate - are physically present in the research environment at the university. This requires a residence in the Stockholm area. In addition to your own research you are expected to regularly participate in other activities at the university, and also perform departmental duties, such as teaching, at one of the university departments.
The application deadline has passed.
The application should be written in Swedish or English and be uploaded digitally. Use the green buttons to apply.
Note: The application for choregraphy should be written in English.
There are several steps in the admission process. The first selection will be made based on material submitted in the applications. After a second selection, a number of applicants will be invited to attend interviews planned for September 2016. The planned start of the education is January 2017.
