General entry requirements and accreditation of prior learning

Even if you do not meet the formal entry requirements, you may be assessed to have obtained the necessary qualifications, equivalent to an exam, in other ways. In that case you can apply for Accreditation of Prior Learning.

General entry requirements for third-cycle courses and study programmes

To meet the general entry requirements for third-cycle courses and study programmes you must have been awarded a second-cycle qualification, or have satisfied the requirements for courses comprising at least 240 credits of which at least 60 credits were awarded in the second cycle within a relevant artistic disciplinary domain.

Even if you do not meet the formal entry requirements, you may be assessed to have obtained the necessary qualifications, equivalent to an exam, in other ways. In that case you can apply for Accreditation of prior learning. The assessment relates to the knowledge, skills and abilities that you have acquired through work, education or other activities and employment.

How to apply for accreditation of prior learning

You apply for recognition of prior learning at the same time as you apply for the doctoral position. You need to do this in a separate document that you attach to your digital application. The attachment must be named "Application for accreditation of prior larning". In this application you give detailed information about the educations, work experiences and artistic productions that you think give you the qualifications equivalent to a second cycle education. The most important experiences and merits need to be documented through proof of education, documentation of work experiences or the like.
